Fellowship in The American College of Dentists 2019

Westchester County Dentist Dr. Kenneth Magid, D.D.S. has been selected for Fellowship in The American College of Dentists 2019

HARRISON, NEW YORK, September 10, 2019– Dr. Kenneth Magid, D.D.S., has been selected for Fellowship in The American College of Dentists in recognition of his services to the field of dentistry. The American College of Dentists was founded in 1920 “to elevate the standards of dentistry, to encourage graduate study, and to grant Fellowship to those who have done meritorious work.” The mission of the American College of Dentists is to advance excellence, ethics, professionalism, and leadership in dentistry.

Qualifications for Fellowship in The American College of Dentists state, “The candidate must be of good moral character and have a reputation for ethical conduct and professional standing that is unquestioned. Personality, integrity, education, unselfishness, and high professional ideals as well as freedom from mercenary tendencies shall be considered in evaluating the qualifications of all candidates considered for fellowship.”

Dr. Kenneth Magid of Advanced Dentistry of Westchester said, “Being selected for Fellowship in the American College of Dentists is one of the most significant events of a dentists career. I am honored to be recognized as a Fellow for the class of 2019. This is a very prestigious honor awarded to a very small percentage of dentists. It is very rare to be a fellow in both the International College of Dentists and The American College of Dentists. When looking at the list of past and present dental luminaries that are fellows, I am humbled to be included. ”

The American College of Dentists recognizes individuals in areas linked to the ACD mission, which is advancing “excellence, ethics, professionalism, and leadership in dentistry.”
Fellows of the American College of Dentists light the path forward for all those in the oral health profession. Chosen for leadership, model ethics, and service to the profession and to society, our members are thoughtfully selected through a thorough

vetting process. ACD Fellows make up a small percentage of all dental professionals in the United States. Nominees submitted by Fellows in good standing are reviewed once a year by a committee of the College with all of their nominators’ identifying information removed in order to avoid choosing new Fellows based on internal relationships rather than on merit or potential.
Dr. Magid has practiced dentistry in Westchester County for over 49 years.
He is currently the Assistant Director of Honors Esthetics, Director of Pre Doctoral Laser Dentistry and Associate Clinical Professor at NYU College of Dentistry. He has written chapters on esthetic dentistry in numerous textbooks, has appeared on nationwide television and radio programs to discuss high-tech and cosmetic dentistry including ABC and The New York Times. Dr. Magid lectures throughout the U.S. and Canada and is a contributor to many journals on topics including “Minimally Invasive” Dentistry, Laser Dentistry, Digital Radiography, Air-Abrasion dentistry, “21st Century Dentistry” and Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Magid received his dental degree from New York University College of Dentistry.

Dr. Kenneth Magid was inducted into The American College of Dentists at a ceremony in San Francisco on September 5, 2019. In an impressive cap and gown ceremony, inductees took the oath of fellowship in the College and were given the certificate of membership. The Convocation address was given by Mary Jo White, former US Attorney for the Southern District of New York and former Chair of the SEC. The Keynote Presenter was Frank Bucaro, author of The Trust Puzzle: How to Keep Your Company on the Ethical High Road.

About The American College of Dentists

Founded in 1920, the American College of Dentists is the oldest honorary organization for dentists. The mission of the American College of Dentists is to advance excellence, ethics, professionalism, and leadership in dentistry. Fellowship in the College is by invitation only, and less than 4% of the dentists in the United States qualify under the strict vetting process of the College.

Individuals selected for Fellowship must be in good standing with the American Dental Association, and have contributed meritorious achievement to the specialty. Additionally, the individuals must demonstrate the potential for future contributions in dental science, education, art, literature, human relations, and other areas that contribute to human welfare and best satisfy the objectives of the College.

ACD Fellows work at the local level with their Sections to bring the ethos of the College to their communities, write on matters of interest for the Journal of the American College of Dentists, speak on ethics and leadership panels, and continue to be models and mentors for others in the profession.
